Outfit Of The Night and 30week update

It's taken me a while to finally get this up cause I've been waiting for the weather to warm up and also to have an adequate amount of time to get outside and take some pics of the outfit I wore for my baby shower.

My mumma helped me take these photo's in her beautiful garden :-)

Dress // unknown label // brought 3years ago and the shower was the first time I'd worn it! Can't remember the cost
Heels // Siren from Wild Pair (old purchase) // NZD$80
Statement necklace // Colette Hayman // NZD$5.70 from NZD$22!

I wanted to wear something light, flowy and feminine and maybe something a little sexy too ;-)

I honestly can't remember the last time I did and 'outfit' post!
My goal for pregnancy summer fashion (and afterwards) is maxi dresses, wedge heels, statement necklaces and all items combined with plenty of colour I.E. yellows, reds, oranges, blues, crisp whites and mint.

I'm finding fashion is anyone's game these days, I'm not fashionista and still pretty much live in my jeans and t-shirts!
But working in fashion retail has opened my eyes up to new ways of dressing up even you're simple plain white T and blue denim.

I can't wait to update you more on my pregnancy style, watch this space!

How far along? 30 weeks! Only 10 or so more weeks to go, I cannot believe how fast time has flown!!!

Total weight gain/loss? 69.58kgs (153.39pounds). I've gained a total of 8.98kgs since my pregnancy started (21.09pounds) which isn't that much. In total I'm aiming to gain a minimum of 13kgs.
Also we had a growth ultra sound for Luka last week and she's happy, healthy and weighs approx 3pounds!
No wonder I feel so heavy in my belly...

Maternity clothes? Alright I know I've said before that I don't want to fish out for maternity gear, well I caved.
My body has been growing at an extremely fast rate the last few weeks, thus being unable to fit into my usual size NZ 8/10 jeans and now being able to fit comfortably into size NZ 12's.
I finish work in just a few short weeks so instead of me buying jeans I brought this beautiful dress from ASOS as well as this one when it was available in orange (I'd wanted it for months and brought for the sale price of NZD$85 from NZD$170!), but that one is a little to snug around my belly so that'll be saved till after Luka's born :-)
Otherwise that gorgeous aqua blue/green dress is the only thing I've brought maternity wise, it's now warmer here in NZ so I doubt I'll be wearing jeans!

Stretch marks? Still none, I'm using Mum to Be Organics stretch mark oil as well as good ol' Bio Oil.

Symptoms: Absent mindedness, shortness of breath, sore feet and legs, tummy heaviness, rapid hair and nail growth (yay) which is all common for around this stage of my pregnancy. Also pelvic floor pain which started about a month ago but is bothersome every now and then.

Sleep: Is great. I'm used to Luka moving a around at night now so I sleep more soundly.

Best moment this week? Would've been last weekend actually, it was labour weekend so Andrei and I stayed at our friends' place out of Auckland in the Waikato region and then the next day road tripped it to my fave place in NZ (and possibly the world), Whangamata. We walked along the beach, had some ice cream and then shot off home it was really lovely to escape out of the city chaos!

Miss anything? Hmmm... Nope nothing really :-)

Movements? Yeah, she's always moving! Having little boxing rounds in my belly and rolling about, I love it :-) I'm actually going to miss feeling her movements when she's here.

Labour signs? No. Not planning on feeling anything this early!

Food cravings? Apples and apple juice strangely enough! Still fruits though, strawberries are in season and I've made a few trips to a local strawberry farm which I've indulged in their yummy ice creams and brought a few packs of strawberries :-)

Starting to show? As per the photo's above I think I am starting to show :-)

Happy or moody most of the time? I was a bit up and down over the weekend as I worked quite a few shifts last week so I was a bit tired and grumpy. But now that I've had a good rest I'm fine :-)

Exercising? Yup, I didn't go to the gym last week due to the amount of shifts I picked up and I wanted to rest and conserve as much energy as possible. But I did do quite a lot of walking, I'd say about 5hours last week, 30mins to my bus stop and back.
I went to the gym today and cause my belly's getting so big now I've slowed right down and certain exercises are becoming difficult so I'm just really going at my own pace.

Baby is a: Girl!

Belly button in or out? In. It's starting to look slanted so I think it'll pop out any week now.

Looking forward to? Receiving my ASOS maternity dress, work leaving party and work Christmas party (it's Great Gatsby themed!). My last trip to Whangamata in early December with some friends before baby arrives and of course meeting Luka very soon :-)

Second trimester down, one to go....

I cannot believe I'm finally in the third trimester of pregnancy!

It feels like only a month ago Andrei and found out; feelings of excitement, worry and explainable joy are still very raw even though I did the test in May.
Now it's October and anytime within late December or early January our baby will be here, it's crazy!

Luka's movements have been more prominent in the last 3weeks. You can see her kicking and moving about so well in my tummy I will need to upload some videos of her movement soon...
The only downside is that it's getting extremely cramped in that little space she's happily growing in. I'm starting to feel uncomfortable when sitting and I'm starting to sleep with a pillow between my legs.

From L to R: week 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21.

From L to R: week 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27.
Otherwise everything seems to be OK :-)
I've started nesting (an extreme urge to clean EVERYTHING, like a mother bird prepares a nest I'm preparing a healthy home) and have soaked and double cleaned a lot of clothes, linen and this weekend I'll be cleaning the walls, crevices in our room as Luka will be sleeping next to us in her bassinet....which reminds me I need to clean that as well plus her clothes!

** A quick tip for expectant mothers, always clean newborn babies clothes before they wear them as the chemical spray the use to set and preserve clothing on display is very harsh on their new delicate skin and may cause allergies. Even wash hand-me-downs as you don't know how long they've been sitting around etc, you can read all about that here .

Me now at 28weeks! Just look at that belly!
I'm so excited! My pregnancy has gone incredibly fast and although I want to fully immerse myself with my baby list I have to remind myself about spending more time with Drei.
We're going to a Halloween party this weekend (I'm going as a half sugar skull and half Marilyn Monroe, I want Drei to go as Heath Ledgers 'Joker' from The Dark Knight but we shall see...) plus going to see the new Metallica movie at IMAX tomorrow!
I've also put by him that when I go on maternity leave we should go to Goat Island and do a bit of snorkeling plus a little trip around the Coromandel and enjoy the summer together as I doubt we'll have time to do that when Luka's here, she'll be much too small to go on long trips and obviously wont be able to snorkel with us!

So that's kinda the plan at the moment, it's really just a waiting a game at the moment. I do want to keep myself busy though as I've heard the last 10weeks of pregnancy tend to drag so having those plans in tow will make the wait more bearable :-)
In the mean time I'll leave with the usual read below, cheers everyone!

How far along? 28 weeks (7months) pregnant yipee!

Total weight gain/loss? I haven't weighed myself yet so I'm gonna stick with 67kgs although I feel a lot heavier as Luka now weights around 2pounds!

Maternity clothes? No maternity wear. I don't see the point in spending money on a short term thing. I still wear the same jeans that I did before I got pregnant, but a wear them with a Belly Belt. It definitely saves you a lot of money in the long run. The only thing I will buy is maternity lingerie, my bra's that served me pre-preg are now starting to get small and cut into my skin so I'm going to need to get some which I know of a Bendon outlet close by which sell Elle Macpherson Maternity (I do still want to feel sexy y-know?) plus some good basics.

Stretch marks? Still none, let's hope it stays that way!

Symptoms: Shortness of breath, sore legs, beginning to feel uncomfortable....hooray....

Sleep: It's good, like a stated earlier it's having it's challenges, I'm also waking up at strange hours again I.E. 2, 3 and 4am and then having to force myself back to sleep. But otherwise I sleep like a baby, no pun intended.

Best moment this week? Hitting the 3rd trimester! Plus my gym rang me today and on Wednesday we'll be taking photo's for my gym article which will be going up soon!!!

Miss anything? Of course, but I'm not going to bother with my '-pre-pregnancy' hang up's, I'm actually loving being pregnant right now. My bump makes me smile and love feeling Luka move around.

Movements? Always. I suppose every mother feels like there baby has the most strongest kicks ever! But because my belly is still quite tight her kicks are very obvious and even my mum (who's had 6 children) thinks they're very strong, it's awesome that I can see her moving too, she tends to move much more when she's hungry and when she's had some food. That's my girl!

Food cravings? Nothing too extreme. I've been wanting fruit salad and yogurt, bangers and mash, roasts. Obviously not together!

Starting to show? I'm not too sure, what do you think?

Happy or moody most of the time? Good moods, happy happy all around!

Exercising? I am. I didn't make it to the gym last week as we had a bad bout of rain. I walked 30mins to the bus stop and back home each way to catch the bus to work and the weather cleared up a little bit during the weekend so I did a 30min walk around the block.

Baby is a: Girl!

Belly button in or out? In.

Looking forward to? My gym article going up, receiving my dress I ordered from ASOS, buying my shoes, going to see the Metallica movie and my friends Halloween party!

Quick little catch up...

Hey Everyone!

It's been a few weeks and there is just so much I want to update and blog about; but life's hectic schedule has prevented me a wee bit lately!

To keep you in the loop of what's been happening Andrei and I have moved out of our old grungy place and are now staying with my mumma till early next year when we'll move into our own home with Luka :-)
That's taken up quite a lot of our time with the move plus with work commitments and what not.

I saw my midwife the other week and requested another scan which I'll be getting in two weeks time, I can't wait to see how big bug is getting! Plus I also requested a maternity leave note from her and will officially be finishing up work middle of next month then all that leaves me is a month and a few weeks to nest, relax and enjoy this amazing NZ Summer and then Luka will be in the world forever :-)

My 26 week bump :-)
Also on another note, my gym, Configure Express, have asked me to write up an article on why exercising while you're pregnant is A-OK!
They know that I have this blog so they thought I'd be the perfect candidate for it plus also state the obvious on eating healthy.
It was such an honor! I've written it up already and they love it, there now going to get some photo's of me and then we'll have the article up very soon :-)
I'll definitely be posting about it once it's in full swing.

A photo I've taken so far for my gym article. Decked out from head to toe in Nike, a very good reminder to 'Just Do It' even when you're carrying :-)

Oh yes I did mention it's Summer here in NZ (FINALLY)!!! Well actually Spring, but the weather has been beautiful and it makes me hopeful for a few road trips to the Coromandel with Andrei before baby arrives plus many Summer outfits to share with you too.
It's also my 1 year Anniversary with working at Overland on the 11th and each year that you're employed under the company you get a special little discount off shoes or a voucher.
We're in our Summer Range at the moment and I've got my beady eyes on these beauties...

Overland Footwear 'Bambie' sandal

Strappy stilettos are definitely in this Summer so I thought I'd keep up (albeit being 6months pregnant) and get these once my anniversaries here.
Hey a girls gotta look good, plus they're really comfy (really) and at a great height so come 9months along I should still be able to rock em' ;-)
Of course I do have some flats and platform wedges on my list too, I'm not that impractical :P

So that's it really, I'll leave you with my pregnancy update and will be in touch soon with my outfit from my baby shower next post :-)

How far along? Now 27weeks pregnant! (6months) Only two more weeks to go and I'll be in the Third Trimester.

Total weight gain/loss? I'm now 67.8kgs, baby's been growing rapidly and should now weigh almost 1pound.

Maternity clothes? Still nothing, I can fit my jeans with a belly belt. I've had to buy larger tops though cause my pre-preg ones are too small and keep riding up. I will be looking into buying dresses and some new pants soon. In all honesty I don't want to buy maternity wear as I don't know when I'll be pregnant again.

Stretch marks? Nothing new. I have old stretch marks from when I was heavier in my teens but no new ones. I'm still using Bio Oil and drinking plenty of fluids, eating healthy-ish and exercising which is keeping my skin supple.

Symptoms: Braxton Hicks, feeling a bit short of breath when I'm constantly moving.

Sleep: Sleeps great, can't sleep in belly anymore and I hate it when I sleep on one side for too long my hips get pins and needles. I'm getting used to Luka moving around more at night too, she eventually settles down.
I also had my first late night snack! It was 3am and I woke up and could not get back to sleep, Luka was kicking and my tummy was grumbling so I got up, made myself a bowl of corkflakes, played some Candy Crush, read a magazine and before I knew it it was quarter to 5!

Best moment this week? Getting the opportunity to write my gym article :-)

Miss anything? There are things that I miss, my old body, certain foods but I love being pregnant; and I won't be for long so I'm enjoying it :-)

Movements? Oh my gosh yes! They're getting more stronger each week. You can start to see her kicking too and when Andrei lay's his head on my belly and talks to Luka she kicks him in the head it's so funny/cute! She's moved up from my belly button to my ribs now, I feel little butterfly kicks for now but I'm not looking forward to the full on boots in the ribs!

Food cravings? It's the funniest things but I'm still loving my salad, avocado, tomato and cheese on crackers!
Oh plus I had these amazing waffles and ice cream from this ice cream bar literally right next to my work place so I've been killing for another plate....

Starting to show? Per the first picture above, I think it's pretty obvious :-)

Happy or moody most of the time? My moods are well balanced, I'm happy and sad when I need to be.

Exercising? Yup! I managed gym twice this week. I live a bit further away from the gym now so instead of walking 15mins there and then 15mins back home it's now a 45-50mins walk each way which I totally don't mind as the weather has been stunning!
Then I work out for 45-50mins and I just feel amazing! It makes me feel like a bit of boss too haha, 6months preg and still going strong yeah buddy!

Baby is a: Girl!

Belly button in or out? In.

Looking forward to? Getting a new pair of shoes, wearing more dresses, my gym article and my next scan to see little Luka :-)

Celebrating Baby Girl

Last weekend Andrei and I hosted our first Baby Shower for our little girl who's due in early January.

What was essentially planned to be a casual BBQ at our place moved to a Mongolian BBQ restaurant surrounded by most family and friends :-)

It was such an amazing night, very relaxed, great atmosphere and the gifts were non stop!
Here's a few pics that were taken during the night with my Polaroid camera....

Group shot! A few of the guests had left before this was taken.

My beautiful friend Candice!

Some of the gorgeous girls from Mi Piaci!

This photo of me and Andrei makes me giggle. I accidentally poked him in the eye hence his facials!!!

Some of my beautiful friends from work!

My BFF and God-Mother to my baby, Beya :-)

I wanted just a casual gathering for the baby shower which wasn't just a 'girls only' thing.
The restaurant was an 'all you can eat' buffet so I think that set the mood quite nicely for everyone to socialise and have a great night :-)
I set the table with pink and purple Pom Poms , old perfume bottles and baby booties to set the 'baby' theme but make it look pretty. And everyone seemed to have fun with taking the pics with my Fuji Polaroid camera :D
(Shake it like a Polaroid picture!!!)

Oh and by the way, as you've probably seen by now, we've named baby girl Luka.
Per this post here which I said about the naming decision, Andrei and I wanted to call her Darcey at first but we and coincidentally Luka thought she suited this name best :P
I really wanted a Russian name for her anyway, and Luka seems to fit the bill just right, plus it's unisex!
We revealed her name to everyone by these cute block letters which I purchased from this cool store called Typo, then I painted on blue and purple (mine and Dreis fave colors) glitter glue and did and ombré effect to really make Luka's name SPARKLE!

It was such a fantastic night, Andrei and I felt we couldn't thank everyone enough for their company and the gifts they brought for Luka, it was truly amazing!
Plus all the support and well wishing we've received from family and friends that couldn't make the night has just made this whole experience for us becoming first-time-parents incredible :-)

My work friends gave me a $50 voucher to Pumpkin Patch. They've just started their Spring/Summer collection which has a 'French Countryside' theme, and I had my eye on this cute as a button romper! Andrei chose the adorable socks and I added in the headband :-)

This is only some of the gifts Luka was given! I was also treated to some skin oil and some bath and shower soaps/bombs from Lush.

 Cards from friends :-)

The photo edit apps I use on my iPhone, in case you're wondering, is PicFx, Rhonna Designs and A Beautiful Mess.

And the celebration really doesn't stop here!
We have friends and family coming from overseas in a few months and with me going on maternity leave soon too it's going to be quite the eventful year for Andrei and I.
Bring it on I say!

The next post I'll update you with what I wore for the evening and plus some :)

How far along? 23 weeks, I'll be 6 months next week!

Total weight gain/loss? Haven't weighed myself this week. I'm guessing I'm still at 64kgs.

Maternity clothes? Nothing yet, I'm still wearing the same size jeans I had since before getting pregnant but wearing them with a belly belt.

Stretch marks? Nope. Still using my holy grail Bio Oil.

Symptoms: Braxton Hicks contractions which I feel about 3 times a day.

Sleep: Sleep is fine. I haven't been waking up during the night the last week.
Also I miss sleeping on my tummy!

Best moment this week? Going to the new Spring/Summer range launch meeting at my work place Overland Footwear and getting work alongside a work friend who I haven't seen in months!
I'm such a workaholic!

Miss anything? Soft serve ice cream, medium rare steak, apple cider, sleeping on my tummy....

Movements? All the time! She's so active :-)

Food cravings? Pancakes!!!! I make these amazing chocolate pancakes which are so light and fluffy then I have it with Nutella, double whipped cream and bananas. ERMEHGERD!
There goes my healthy eating.... Actually I lie, I'm still eating well. Gotta balance these things out y-know?

Starting to show? Yes indeed :-) I have the cutest, tiny round bump!
I get asked how far along I am, I say so, and then get complimented with how tiny I still am! I find it very flattering especially on days when I don't feel shit hot, it's good to know I still look great!

Happy or moody most of the time? My moods are well balanced, I'm happy and sad when I need to be.

Exercising? Umm next question haha! I've been slack the last two weeks with the gym. I had my 'week break once a month' last week and I haven't been this week cause its been raining and I'd rather not catch a cold!
I do feel very sluggish and my backs aching so I've been doing stretches, lunges etc at home until the weathers fine.

Baby is a: Girl!

Belly button in or out? In.

Names? Luka Anya. I'll leave it at that until she's born :-)

Looking forward to? Summer time, meeting Luka, getting into maxi dresses and wedge heels, going to Shakespear Beach in Whangaparaoa!

Pregnancy Story....

Just some of the beautiful baby's clothes we've purchased!
I cannot believe in just 4 short months Andrei and will be cradling a baby in our arms!
It seems like only a couple of weeks ago that I found out I was pregnant; here's my little story of how I found out that Andrei and I were going to be parents...

Beginning of May I started to feel strange.
Now my usual self strange but like very tired to the point of falling asleep at work, throwing up in the morning strange!

Andrei was the first to really notice all these things as I just thought I needed a break, especially with the sleeping aspect as I was crashing out at 6-7pm.
It was at that point he asked if I was pregnant.

I, as usual when asked this question, got offended and said NO! Poor bugger was worried and said I should go to the doctors and get a test just incase.

I hate pregnancy tests. We'd done them in years prior and all had come back negative so I was sure this one would be too.
I told him I'll wait a week to see if the symptoms I had persisted then I'll go.

Much to my dismay (at the time), they persisted.
The only thing that went through my mind was I couldn't possibly raise a child now, not with work commitments, I still wanted to study and travel and blow all my hard earned money on well...me!
I guess sometimes you can and can't plan these things huh.

During what seemed like the longest week ever I asked a couple of friends that have children about how I was feeling.
Both said that it definitely sounded like pregnancy and to get a test ASAP!

The night before I was due to get the test there was a strange vibe between Andrei and I. It was pretty obvious that I was expecting, although both of us didn't want to get too hyped up about it.
So come the next morning, I headed straight to the doctors, peed on a stick and did the waiting game.
My palms were sweating, hear rate was through the roof, I've never felt this way like I did with previous tests.
5mins later the nurse called me over and quietly showed me that the two pink lines on my stick meant I'm pregnant.

Time literally stopped for me!
A couple of seconds later all I managed to blurt out was 'Oh my God!!!" and then the water works started.
I was crying uncontrollably then I started laughing uncontrollably and then both at the same time!
I think I scared the nurse a little, I told her I was fine the news was good even though I had mixed emotions.

After everything at the doctors had finished up I left to my dads who lived down the road still in my hysteric state.
I called my mum on the way to tell her the news (I was walking by the way, not driving), she was happy to hear it and laughed at the crazy state I had called her in!
As soon as I got to dads he knew straight away as I told him and my mumma the night before, he was over the moon and gave me some of my old clothes to pass down :-)

I stayed at dads for a few hours to settle down. I texted Andrei, who was working, to call me ASAP.
As soon as he rang I told him. He was in shock, he didn't really say much, can't say I blamed him I
was too!

Straight after we spoke I rang my brothers and sisters to tell them the news, later that day we called Andrei's family, they were delighted which was great as it took some of the edge off our nervousness!

Friends were over the moon!
I was texting and taking calls all day, it made the situation much better and less lonely for me as I didn't see Andrei till later that evening and I was so soo anxious to see him!
I had a staff meeting that night and when I told my work colleagues the news they were all so excited and it was so lovely to see how supportive everyone was :-)

When I finally saw Andrei it was the best feeling after such a long day!
We hugged, cried and embraced the moment that we were going to become parents, as overwhelming as it was. It was truly amazing, something that neither of us have ever had in our 6years together, just to know that we'll be starting our own family was, and is, just the most incredible rush!

I love saying to Andrei and that bug will be daddy's little girl and that he'll spoil her rotten!
His face lights up when I say that it's so adorable. Our baby brings out this glow in both of us which is so magic we love her to bits!

Since finding out on May 8th we pretty much have everything we need as we've been given so much from family and friends.
The generosity and kindness has just been amazing, our little one doesn't even know how spoiled and loved she is!

Andrei and I have been discussing values we want to bring her up on too. We don't want to over spoil her with materialistic things as we think it'll have a superficial effect on her e.g. buying baby her own tablet!
Seriously, what happened to good ol' crayons and colouring books?
Call me old fashioned but I'm a big believer and giving you're children heaps of you're time and patience as I've seen first hand the negative effects over overly spoilt children and uncaring parents.
We want to bring up bug very down to earth, empathetical, kind, unselfish, generous, hardworking, honest and plus some which I think is a perfect way to start life :-)

My first baby outfit! I was brought home in this, it was essentially a dolls outfit, cause I was 2months prem and so small this was still too big!

So bring on January 2014!
Estimated due date is the 6th, my birthday's the 17th, sisters is the 4th and mum's is the 10th so there will be another Capricorn in the mix :D

Hope you enjoyed this read. Next post is the baby shower and bug's name reveal!
Also here are some links from previous pregnancy posts I did 1, 2, 3, and .

How far along? 22 weeks. Got my weeks mixed up, thought I was 23 this week but I am actually 22, oops!

Total weight gain/loss? 64kgs. Put on 4kgs so far, I'm at the stage in my second trimester where I'll put on 2/3rds of my pregnancy weight.

Maternity clothes? Still nothing yet, although I'm looking on ASOS.

Stretch marks? Nope.

Symptoms: Small varicose veins on the back of my left calf and tiredness.

Sleep: Sleep is still great sometimes. Bug's been waking up around 3am and keeping me up for an hour or so kicking and moving which is cute but also annoying!

Best moment this week: This Saturday's baby shower!

Told family and friends? Yes :-)

Miss anything? My pre pregnancy body.... Although I do love my baby bump :-)

Movements? Yes!!! Kicking, stretching and rolling. I love it :-)

Food cravings? Nothing out of the norm. Eating choc chip cookies....?

Starting to show? Yes indeed :-)

Happy or moody most of the time? Happy!!!

Exercising? Yes and no, I do a lot of brisk walking and I'm slowly going to the gym twice a week 40mins each time.

Baby is a: GIRL!!!!

Belly button in or out: In.

Names? Yes! I won't announce anything till after this weeks shower :D

Looking forward to: Our Baby Shower!!!

Throwback Thursdays!

This is officially my first Throwback Thursday on my blog!

A few weeks ago I popped over to my dads place and were clearing out some old household junk when I came across these photos of me and my mum when I was 2years old.

Typical 90's kid wearing overalls, sneakers and a sweater on the inside with a side ponytail!

We were in hospital as my mum just had my little brother Dante (1993) and by the looks of it she got out her makeup case and we were having a little play around, as you do :-)

Putting lippy on my mums friend!

These photo's really warm my heart and really make me love my mum so much more!
When I showed her these we had a little cry as things have changed so much, what with me expecting my own baby girl very soon and all the things I can teach her from what my mum taught me is very exciting :-)

Mum has been such an amazing part of my life and I can't wait till my baby girl meets her.
Photo's like these also make me wonder what my baby will look like, if she'll have most of my features or half of mine and her dads......

One things certain, she's going to be a little blondie! And I have a sneaky suspicion that she'll inherit her dads blue eyes not my hazel eyes, but you never know....

And baby is a.......

I have a huuuuggee announcement to make!!!

We went for our baby's anatomy scan yesterday and found out, not only how fast little bug is growing and is happy and healthy but also that little buggy is a GIRL!!!

Yes, we are having a beautiful baby girl in early January 2014 and are absolutely stoked!

An excuse to buy pretty girly things YAY!
It's the funniest thing cause Andrei and I thought we were having a boy for months!
And most of our family and friends thought we were too.
We put a bet on the night before and made a list of how many people thought baby was a boy or girl and we were to do a draw and the first person to be pulled out who guessed right got a prize!

But because only 5 people thought we were having a girl I think I may just treat all of them!

I cannot begin to say how delighted we both are and how much it's changed the whole pregnancy!
I feel a lot more feminine than I did when I thought we were having a boy, it's a lovely feeling :-)

Were both so in love and after the scan was over I was just casually having my conversations with my tummy and told baby about the name we had chosen for her. I received no response, but when I mentioned a different name she just would not stop kicking and doing back flips it was the sweetest thing!

So a name is definitely settled, but it's my little secret until our friends know at the baby shower in a few weeks ;-)

I can't wait to properly meet her, but I love having her growing in my belly and getting to know her little habits and what soothes her and what gets her up and going.
She's such an active little thing! Constantly kicking and moving about, but she's very lovely and is starting to develop sleeping pattern during the night (she was a night owl for ages) and I've found out that warm showers soothe her too.

A few hours before I was due to go for the scan.
Taken on my Instagram account, my fave photo of baby girl fist pumping!

So yeah, after weeks of waiting to find out we finally know, and it's such a relief cause now we can go buy some baby clothes!
I'm planning a few weekends with friends to browse around, it's so exciting!
Cute little dresses, shoes, accessories and I'll be browsing for a baby bracelet!

As soon as I go on maternity leave I'll be designing my new tattoo to get after I've finished breast feeding. I'm so excited, I'm going to do Matryoshka dolls as little buggy will be half Kiwi (from me) and half Russian (from her dad).

Andrei and I will be going out to celebrate this weekend, hopefully at this cool new dessert restaurant in town called Milse (pronounced Mill-say), but I'll tell you about that later....

How far along? 21 weeks!

Total weight gain/loss? Still at 63kg.

Maternity clothes? Still nothing. I can still fit my size 10 jeans with a belly belt.

Stretch marks? Nope.

Symptoms: Baby brain hahaha! I've almost fallen over myself a few times and keep dropping things!

Sleep: Sleep is still great.

Best moment this week: Seeing how much my beautiful baby has grown and knowing the sex!

Told family and friends? Yes :-)

Miss anything? Being able to complete simple tasks in a timely manner at work than taking forever to do them! Pregnancy, it slows you down.

Movements? Yes!!! Kicking, stretching and rolling. I love it :-)

Food cravings? Still tomatoes, mango's and kiwis. Also chocolate yogurt.

Starting to show? Yes indeed :-)

Happy or moody most of the time? Happy!!!

Exercising? Managed the gym once a week, but I think being on my feet at work will compensate for my lack of gym time!

Baby is a: GIRL!!!!

Belly button in or out: In.

Names? Yes! I won't announce anything till I'm ready.

Looking forward to: Getting in some baby shopping :D

Instagrammin'

Haroooo!!!

I know on the left side bar you can see what I've been up to on Instagram.

But cause I haven't done an Instagram post in a while I thought I'd bombard you with some pics of what I've been up to as a little taster of posts that are to come :-)

From left to right. Grilled lamb chops and potato bake I made for lunch before heading to work for my late night shift!
Having a 'girly makeup' day and putting my pout to the test with M.A.C's Lickable lippy.
Throwback Thursday! An oldie of me when I was young-in'.
Yay! My first ever Benefit makeup purchase!!!
L to R. My fave chocolate makers, Whittakers, took on the Kiwi fizzy drink L&P and fused it with white choc and popping candy, ummm delish!!!
Selfie :P
A pretty spider web I caught while on my way to work.
Benefit VS M.A.C, post still to come, it'll be worth it :-)

Early 6year Anniversary gift from Andrei :-)
Beautiful blue pearl and sterling silver ring from Pandora.

Another throwback of me and my amazing mother!
She was in hospital after having my baby brother and we were playing around with her makeup :-)

Outfit of the Day!
Burgundy skinny jeans and plain white T both from Country Road and my 'pregnancy approved' Sketchers High Top wedge sneakers plus my cute round 20week baby belly!

Lunch time! Pregnant cravings include Tomato's (duh!), avocado, salad, cheese on crackers YUMMO!

So that's all I've been up to really, nothing too extravagant, just life :-)
I'm so so excited that in 5 days we get to know what I'm carrying!

A lot of our friends and family think that were carrying a boy, and I was pretty adamant on that too but now anything's possible!
Either way, Andrei and I will be stoked at anything as long as our baby is happy and healthy :-)

Until next time!
