Current and Fave Recycled pieces

So I'm writing my latest post whilst watching Master Chef USA.
The chefs are in Puerto Rico and are making these amazing pork dishes GAH I'M SO HUNGRY WHY MUST THEY TEMPT ME SO :-(

Never mind I'm too excited to share my latest and greatest recycle finds with you all!

Today I paid a brief visit to my favourite recycled clothing store, Recycle Boutique.
For those of you who don't know, this place is my second home LOL.
They sell recycled clothing, accessory and shoe gems from designer to the unknown and I have found some pretty amazing things from this place which you can check out HERE, and HERE.

I've been wanting to brighten my wardrobe up a bit and the first thing that caught my eye in the store was this gorgeous 100% pure silk, gold sequined top by Witchery!

This top would've easily been $80+ in store but I picked it up for a reasonable price of NZD$25!!!
Aaaand pure silk how lucky could I get!

The top can be worked into a casual day look and a glam night look.
I'm wearing this with my fave Levi's jeans and my nude Christian Louboutin peep toe pumps which were also a great find from R.B :-)

Next on my current finds is this flowy cardi/jacket from brand Jacqui E.

The photo on the left doesn't do it any justice, it is gorgeous!

It's also something I would never buy either and it looks great on :-)
Despite being 6 sizes too big for me I love the fit as it will incorporate well into summer.
I've folded the sleeves up and paired it with my new Witchery top, it's looking pretty good.

Picked that baby up for NZD$28 :D

And last, but not least, is a purchase I made at the beginning of last month is this fab Sugar Skull Scarf!

This wasn't the first time I'd seen this scarf at R.B.
I'd never brought before but I thought I'd go for it this time and I'm so glad I did, this thing is huge!

It's also very warm and I picked it up for NZD$6 which was less than I hoped; something like this scarf would easily be worth $30!
I saw Ashley Simpson wear a scarf similar to this in '04 or '05 and I loved her style back then and still do :-)

Of course in this photo of her here she's wearing an Alexander McQueen Skull Scarf, unfortuantely the brand isn't portrayed on mine but it still is gorge :-)

So gals and guys I hope you liked what I brought cause I sure do :D

ASOS Gold Anniversary dress (OOTN)

The dress I'm wearing in the top picture is what I wore for me and my boyfriends 5year Anniversary (Outfit Of The Night OOTN) which you can see more about here "Anniversary on an Island".
The dress is a beautiful vintage inspired rose-gold purchase from ASOS. BEST DRESS PURCHASE EVER!
Just so you know it's a criss cross back not a halter neck, and it made my tattoo look wicked :-)

It's so flattering on me, and I've never been a rail thin girl (a fact that I'm proud of...most times) so this gave my hourglass figure some 'Vavavoom'!

Unfortunately I didn't get many pics of me in this dress that were flattering on the night of our Anniversary; but hopefully these should suffice :-)

I feel so confident and beautiful in this dress, and that's a feeling that doesn't come very often with me!
I feel like a 1950's pinup girl, they were so celebrated for there fuller and curved figures, it's a shame that it's not carried out that much now.
Marilyn Monroe definitely inspires some of my looks these days as well as Bridgette Bardot, both beautiful women!

I didn't accessorise on the night as the dress was already an accessory on it's own!
My makeup was very 1950's-60's inspired too with a nice winged liner and pouty red lips :-)
I will write about that makeup in a later post.

The outfit wouldn't have been complete without my favourite nude Christian Louboutin pumps!
They complete any outfit I've worn and just go with anything really :-)

Overall I'm impressed with quality of dress, it fitted like a glove and I will reccommend purchasing ASOS to anyone, especially the fact that they free deliver around the world!

First Outfit of The Day (OOTD)

Hi Ladies!

Hope you've had a great week, it's finally finished for me thank goodness!

Now to business.

The last few days of blogging I've been anticipating putting up my first OOTD, and here it is....

I little bit about this outfit.

I wore a week ago to my friends baby shower and received non-stop comments form the guests of how much they loved the look.

I purchased the whole outfit from my second (hand) home Recycle Boutique!
I purchase quite a lot of my clothes from there which I mentioned and showed some good buys in an old post which you can check out here.

So the whole get up is second hand, pretty cool huh?

Starting off the dress.

This gorgeous 1950's inspired leopard print dress was a two day decision that I'm glad I made!

I love twirling around in it and I feel it brings out my inner pin up ;-)

The dress is from a brand called Divided, I love the cute front pocket detailing and for a reasonable $60 I think it looks pretty darn good!

And last, but not least, are my most favourite shoes in my whole wide wardrobe!

The cute peep toe cream coloured pumps were a steal for $60 as they're an authentic pair of Christian Louboutins!

Yeah :-)

As soon as I spotted them I snatched them up without any question after finding out they were from my favourite shoe designer!
Of course trying them on first as well....

So that's my first OOTD and sure wont be the last ;-)

TGIF and POTD

Happy Friday!!! (And thank god to it! )

I had the most busiest day at work, it just wouldn't stop going! I took down 2 hours of meeting notes and just wouldn't stop rushing about; although it was quite productive and made my day go by splendidly so I can't really complain :-)

Plans for the weekend, however, is to go to my favourite thrift store (and little piece of heaven) in all of New Zealand..... Recycle Boutique!
They range from you're everyday lables such as Glassons, Cotton etc etc but most importantly, because being based in the city, they have Designer labels too ranging from Marc Jacobs, Christian Louboutin (who I snagged an amazing pair of nude heels at just $60 authentic too!), and some great New Zealand Designers such as Trelise Cooper, Lonely Hearts, Karen Walker and many more....!
So I'll be sure to upload some pics of what I brought to cure my early winter blues as well as show some of my best thrift buys.

In other news, I thought I may just put up my pic of the day

As you can see the photo below is just some every day beauty products I turn to during my week at work.

As much as I love makeup (my faves being Bobbi Brown, M.A.C, Lancome, The Body Shop and Clinique) I just don't feel like making the time to spend hours in the mirror when I can get up have breakfast and a good workout at the gym y'know?
So here are my go to products listed for the lazy makeup lover:

Pic 1 top left (from left to right): - Third application

1. All the Body Shop 'Cheek and Lip Stain'
2. The Body Shop 'Cranberry Joy' Lip Balm - apply after cheek and lip stain
3. The Body Shop 'Define and Lengthen' mascara (not waterproof)

Pic 2 top right: - First application

1. Lush 'Coal Face' solid Cleanser ($30) - great for all skin types and an investment! You only need to slice off a small amount, preferably the size of you're 'ring' finger nail and it clears up you're skin like no-ones business!

Pic 3 bottom left: - Second application

1. Aveeno 'Positively Radiant SPF 30' Moisterizer - This is beautiful on skin! Brings out the natural glow, hardly any chemicals in it and even covers up some blemishes whilst giving you sun protection which I stress about as the sun in NZ is pretty bad over here :-(

Pic 4 bottom right:

1. My vintage Elizabeth Arden makeup box whixh I've had ever since I was 6 years old. Keeps alot of treasures in it, including those little cosmetics ;-)
